WIBI to cover 2007 Carlinville Christmas Market

The Carlinville Christmas Market Foundation (CCMF) announced that Carlinville radio station WIBI will broadcast from the town square during the 18th annual Christmas Market Festival on December 7, 8, and 9.

WIBI is located in the Lake Williamson complex just north of Carlinville. It broadcasts on 91.1 FM in the Carlinville area, 90.5 FM in the Springfield area, and 89.7 FM for the Mt. Vernon area audience.

“WIBI has supported the Carlinville Christmas Market in various ways in the past,” said CCMF President Lea Hudson, “so it was appropriate to extend our partnership by having them conduct their daily broadcast during prime Christmas Market times on December 7, 8, and 9. They are a part of the Carlinville culture, and we welcome their direct involvement in our 18th annual Market.”

The “Family Friendly” radio station will have a booth inside the East Main Street tent during the Christmas Market. They will air their regular programming but also make public address announcements about festival attractions and play Christmas music on the square. In addition, WIBI will play Christmas music from November 23 through December 26, as part of its regular programming.

The Carlinville Christmas Market opening ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 7. The Market will be open until 9 p.m. that night, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday.
